Since 1996, Alexander Associates Motorsport Recruitment has successfully filled many vacancies for a variety of clients, ranging from large international racing teams to small specialist component suppliers. Positions filled have carried salaries of between £35,000 and £200,000 with associated benefits. Detailed below are some examples of specific assignments, which illustrate the range of our work. Senior Aerodynamicist -International Motorsport Organisation Requirement -To recruit an experienced Aerodynamicist to join the existing Aerodynamics team in a high profile Motorsport Team operating at the highest level. Previous attempts by this organisation to recruit into similar positions always proved to be particularly difficult. Methodology -Targeted search into organisations in Europe using our in-depth knowledge of the international Motorsport sector to identify relevant individuals. A small number of individuals were identified and after preliminary screening, details were forwarded to the client for further consideration. Due to the confidential nature of our client's business, initial interviews were conducted with particular emphasis on candidate confidentiality. Outcome -A suitable individual was interviewed by our client and after a second interview was offered the post, which was subsequently accepted. Race Engineer -International Motorsport Organisation Requirement -We were contacted by a client who had a very specific requirement for a Race Engineer with knowledge of a specific component system in the World Rally Championships. This organisation had previously advertised the vacancy themselves and had also attempted to secure candidates from database oriented recruitment agencies, without success. Methodology -Following an in-depth briefing meeting, we recommended the use of targeted Search (headhunting) to identify candidates with suitable experience not only from their direct competitors, but from other related Motorsport organisations in the UK and overseas. Outcome -Over a period of three weeks, we were able to identify a number of suitable individuals, conduct preliminary screening and forward details to our client. As a result of our work, a subsequent appointment was made and we have since been commissioned to identify a similar individual to support their increasing requirements.
